LIVESTREAM UPDATE:

The streams are back!  The next stream will be this Friday, April 18th at 7pm est!  If you want something doodled, suggest it during the stream and I’ll make it happen!  If you don’t want to listen to Disney music while I’m doodling… you’re out of luck!

Once the doodle is done, we’ll continue the FEZ run, where you guys can laugh at my complete incompetence as I fumble around trying to solve spacial reasoning puzzles.

Neat!

You can view the stream here or here.

See you then!

END LIVESTREAM UPDATE!

The chain of Civilization comics has been broken, by a game I’ve never made a strip about no less!  Rich and I started playing Xenoblade Chronicles this week, and I’ve got to say, it’s all different kinds of awesome.

The battle system is so robust, so complex, so… demanding of your attention.  Each fight has you micromanaging strategic position, staggering attacks, debuffs, buffs, chain meters, seeing future enemy movements and reacting accordingly, all happening in real time.

It’s pretty crazy…

…as are the names of some of the items we’ve been picking up.  Strong Dandelions, Sorrow Beetles, these things have the silliest labels.

One took the cake, however…

…the Cool Potato.

That’s right, folks.  This isn’t your grandfather’s potato, this potato is cool.

In the interest of cheesy segues, here’s a cool story.

I was out at Rich’s Tuesday night and crashed there.  When I had left my apartment that day, it was roughly 60 degrees, so I wore only a tee shirt, no coat.

The following morning, I gathered my stuff (with the exception of my keys, I totally forgot them there), went down the stairs, walked out the door, and…

…it was freezing.

That’s not hyperbole, it was actually under 32 degrees.  Apparently it snowed during the night; every car on the block had a fresh dusting of that lovely white stuff I thought I wouldn’t see for a while.

So with nothing but a tee shirt protecting me from the elements, I walked to the subway, everyone catching my eye along the way looking at me like I was insane.

I guess I was.  It’s insane not to plan ahead for a freak cold snap.

Or that it’s advisable to check the weather report every once in a while.
