LIVESTREAM UPDATE:

We totally had a non-tech-issue livestream this weekend!  YEAH!  It appears as though everything is back up at running, so the streams will return to their normal format.  The next livestream will be this Friday, October 17th at 7pm est!

We pretty much played Hatoful Boyfriend and Happy Wheels for the last few weeks, so if there are any game requests you guys have, let me know in the comments and I’ll see if I’ve got it!  Or we can still find us some pigeons!

See you then!

END LIVESTREAM UPDATE!

THIRD ANNUAL CORPSE RUN HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST:

It’s that time again, HALLOWEEN TIME!  You know what that means?  The Corpse Run Halloween Costume contest is back!  Halloween this year falls on a Friday, so in order to account for weekend parties, the deadline for costume submissions will be November 3rd.

If you’ve got a costume that you’d like to share, send it to [email protected] with the subject “Costume Contest.”  A panel of highly qualified judges Jackie and I will select three winners, who will each receive this year’s totally fancy Astoria DragonCats button!

On a completely unrelated note, I need to order some buttons.

I can’t wait to see some submissions!

END THIRD ANNUAL CORPSE RUN HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST!

Ok, regular post stuff!

Many of you are already acutely aware of this, but I am not a fan of the MTA.  The concept of the subway service is fantastic, sure, and it’s absolutely vital to folks like me who don’t own a car… but their execution is terrible.

Delays, sudden service changes, broken switching signals… every once is a while the MTA finds a way to screw straphangers over.

Yet, the most horrible thing that happens waiting for MTA service isn’t their fault at all.  I almost never wear my glasses, and when I do, they are usually resting on my forehead.  Outside of a ten foot radius around my immediate person, my world is a slightly blurry fantasyland.

When I see the glow of a train arriving, I get pumped.  I instantly look for the letter on the train and…

it’s an N!  YES!

Train gets closer…

Perfect, it’s definitely an N.

…and then it’s a #$%^&*! R.

About a year ago, the MTA starting making R trains that matched the look of the N, Q.  While many R trains still sport the old design, the new ones cause nothing but confusion, anger, and rage.

Damn you, MTA!
