Victoria’s and my romp through Disney movies that we either haven’t seen or haven’t seen in a long time continues!  This week we took in Oliver and Company and The Great Mouse Detective.

If you ever wanted to see a Disney movie where a dude loads a magazine into a pistol to shoot a child, boy do I have a movie suggestion for you.

I’m starting to get the feeling that Disney was only “good” during the Disney Renaissance.  Like, the old old stuff was good in the sense that they were good for their time and were certainly classics, but I feel like outside of a handful of the 90’s movies (plus The Little Mermaid in ’87), a lot of their stuff was pretty mediocre to downright lame.

At some point I guess I’ll need to make a ranking list, but of the Disney movies we’ve recently watched, I’d go with the following:

  • Robin Hood
  • The Rescuers Down Under
  • The Rescuers
  • Aristocats
  • Oliver and Company
  • The Great Mouse Detective
  • Lilo and Stitch
  • The Black Cauldron

This is subject to change as we have more time to review stuff, but once we get through everything I’ll build out a full “Alex’s Disney Rankings” for everyone since I know it’s a super important thing that certainly everyone cares about.
