LIVESTREAM UPDATE:

With Thanksgiving out of the way, it’s time for the livestreams to resume!  The next stream will be this Friday, December 6th at 9pm est!

In addition to the regular doodling portion, we’ll be starting a new game!  What will it be?  It’s a mystery!  (for now)

See you then!

END LIVESTREAM UPDATE!

This blog post is best served starting with an ellipsis, so…

I’ve actually had this comic idea written down for a while now, but hadn’t used it for a few reasons:

First, this might be another one of those obscure reference strips that happen every so often.

Second, this might be one of the only strips that draws upon source material that is actually disgusting and disturbing…

and troubling…

and traumatic…

and really, really, really gross.

Guts, by Chuck Palahniuk, is a short story detailing the stranger points of *%!@&%(#!#*%, where a young boy, in an effort to *%@^ #* @(#%!#, he #@$@#$*^()@#$%(* ( *@#($ *@#( *  %()@#($ @#) *^) @*#$)* @#%, at which point @#$@#)(()^*)@#*$*#()@* %*))* (#)( $)@#&U^*$*$(#* @#%, and then he can never be a lawyer.

If, in the totally possible event that I haven’t adequately outlined the story, you can read Guts for yourself.  Be warned, however, this short story is gross.  It’s vile.  It’s truly disgusting.  There’s a very real chance that it could disturb you or make you feel ill.

Or both.

Anyway, here’s a link to the story, but again, be warned.

On the lighter side of things, I finished up the new Phoenix Wright game over the weekend and the ending is simply fantastic.  I really like most of the changes they made to the series in this newest installment, but the bread and butter of Phoenix is the narrative, the twists and turns that each trail takes on its way to the truth.

Each case usually has an “ah hah!” moment where you suddenly figure everything out, and this game is no different.  In an attempt not to give too much away, all I can say is that when I had my final “ah hah!” moment, the realization of what I had discovered was so strong that, for the first time ever, I dropped my 3DS in total disbelief.

Fortunately I was lying in bed, so dropping it wasn’t a big deal.

That said, if you haven’t played the Phoenix Wright series, you really, really should.
