Corpse Run 369: Aggro-gag
LIVESTREAM UPDATE:
With Thanksgiving out of the way, it’s time for the livestreams to resume! The next stream will be this Friday, December 6th at 9pm est!
In addition to the regular doodling portion, we’ll be starting a new game! What will it be? It’s a mystery! (for now)
See you then!
END LIVESTREAM UPDATE!
This blog post is best served starting with an ellipsis, so…
…
I’ve actually had this comic idea written down for a while now, but hadn’t used it for a few reasons:
First, this might be another one of those obscure reference strips that happen every so often.
Second, this might be one of the only strips that draws upon source material that is actually disgusting and disturbing…
and troubling…
and traumatic…
and really, really, really gross.
Guts, by Chuck Palahniuk, is a short story detailing the stranger points of *%!@&%(#!#*%, where a young boy, in an effort to *%@^ #* @(#%!#, he #@$@#$*^()@#$%(* ( *@#($ *@#( * %()@#($ @#) *^) @*#$)* @#%, at which point @#$@#)(()^*)@#*$*#()@* %*))* (#)( $)@#&U^*$*$(#* @#%, and then he can never be a lawyer.
If, in the totally possible event that I haven’t adequately outlined the story, you can read Guts for yourself. Be warned, however, this short story is gross. It’s vile. It’s truly disgusting. There’s a very real chance that it could disturb you or make you feel ill.
Or both.
Anyway, here’s a link to the story, but again, be warned.
On the lighter side of things, I finished up the new Phoenix Wright game over the weekend and the ending is simply fantastic. I really like most of the changes they made to the series in this newest installment, but the bread and butter of Phoenix is the narrative, the twists and turns that each trail takes on its way to the truth.
Each case usually has an “ah hah!” moment where you suddenly figure everything out, and this game is no different. In an attempt not to give too much away, all I can say is that when I had my final “ah hah!” moment, the realization of what I had discovered was so strong that, for the first time ever, I dropped my 3DS in total disbelief.
Fortunately I was lying in bed, so dropping it wasn’t a big deal.
That said, if you haven’t played the Phoenix Wright series, you really, really should.
WOW. DIDN’T NEED TO FOLLOW THAT LINK. HOLY ****. TOOK ALL OF 2 SENTENCES, AND THEN NOPE.
If the first few sentences got to you, you won’t be a fan of the rest! I was actually a little tentative about posting the link =P
Make the game a few more rounds of Blood Bowl — I haven’t seen you on since I played you that one or two times.
I had another RPG in mind, but you’re right, I have barely been on Steam over the last… forever. We totally need to play again!
I’ve got some free time coming up around the holidays, so I hope to see you on!
No Dark Story for SA2?
I initially planned on just doing the Hero story as a stop-gap between longer games, but if folks want it, I can do that instead!
WHY? WHY WOULD YOU LINK TO THAT? OH GOD, MY KIDNEYS!
…yeaaaaaah. That’s why I put such a long warning before the link. It’s a pretty gross short story.
Literature!
As disgusting as that story was, it was pretty good. I’ve seen/read a lot of disgusting things on the internet, and that definitely ranks up there with them. It was really well written, despite that.
My favorite line: “God forbid my folks see my dick.”
Oh gosh i love Chuck Palahniuk. So much i will go a moment in my pool thinking about him.
WHY. WHY WOULD YOU EVER LET THE REST OF THE WORLD KNOW ABOUT THAT. AND THEN YOU HAVE PEOPLE LIKE ME, WITH MINOR OCD ABOUT FINISHING STORIES.
…i read the whole thing…at one point I made a screech.
Setting that all aside, though…
Hello again! Sorry I missed your last livestream, I was playing the Elder Scrolls Online Beta.
I kinda…liked it.
Alex, you need to put a bigger disclaimer.
Oddly enough, story didn’t bother me… Until the swimming pool. I already knew that could happen from a Final Destination movie though.
