Corpse Run 716: No one’s favorite
After last week’s soft-lock about two and a half hours into the “for giggles” Tales of Symphonia, I figured I couldn’t just let that go and decided to try it again. My personal best in that game is 7:13:03 (or something like that), but it had been over a year and a half since I had played, so my guess was that the run would end up being around 7:55:00-ish.
Well, for an alarmingly long time, I was actually beating my PB. Sure the wheels did eventually fall off and the run clocked in at 7:27:00, but I was pleasantly shocked at how “not terrible” it went.
Now, there were definitely issues. The menu-fu wasn’t great, the Temple of Lightning was slow, the entire final third of the game was garbage, but hey it was fun!
EXCEPT FOR THE TEMPLE OF DARKNESS OH MY GOD IT’S THE MOST ANNOYING DUNGEON IN ANY GAME EVER.
At least the Water Temple in OoT a player with knowledge of the layout can complete in in a decent enough timeframe. How the heck do you route around some of the worst escort AI pathfinding ever?
I dunno if it’s as annoying as Blackrock Depths in WoW. At least you only have to do Temple of Darkness once.
