No, this didn’t happen at work today… or yesterday… or ever…

As much entertainment as my customers can give, sometimes I yearn for just a little more. I think KO-ing Glass Joe and taking on Iron Mike, all while wearing my work attire, would definitely qualify.

Over the weekend I was at my store for an inventory count, where every single item (products, displays, boxed stuff, etc) had to be scanned by these little laser guns. Once a section was scanned, the guns would transfer the data to a computer which would then make printouts of every item. From there, each item on the printout had to be double checked to make sure the count was accurate.

Everything was going fine… until I had to do the check for the customer service bins. Every other item in the store was in it’s proper location and carefully placed in an organized fashion; the customer service section featured three large bins of assorted battery packs thrown in there with no rhyme or reason to it.

My list for the bins was 12 pages long, and featured multiple repeating items, which, unlike you would think, were all out of order.

For the next god knows how long, I painstakingly took out every single battery pack (AAs, AAAs, charging packs, 2 per pack, 4 per, 8 per, etc) and checked them off the list. By the time I was finished, it was 3 a.m. I’m not sure if I find this story funny or not, but I just wanted to share it with the rest of you guys.
