At the risk of joining the crowd in voicing displeasure over the iPhone X, I’m going to voice my displeasure over the iPhone X.

I’ve never purchased and iPhone before and likely never will, but I do recognize that Apple’s decisions can affect the marketplace so whenever they decide to do something in regards to the design of their newest devices, everyone pays attention.

I get that bluetooth is a thing, but removing the headphone jack (in the iPhone 7 and now into the X), is a terrible idea.  There are uncountable amounts of devices that use analog jacks, and these devices are still being made today.  No headphone jack is a terrible idea and I will always hate it.

Always.

No matter how good digital music gets, reality is in analog.  At some point in the chain from getting your music to your ears, a DAC is required.  That’s the long and the short of it.  Put the DAC and amp in the phone so it can interface with other audio equipment.

The front camera jutting into the viewable screen… well… that’s just stupid.  Shockingly stupid.

The face scanning?  Oh my god.  I get that I’m a little tinfoil-hat-y, but the concept that Apple is going to scan and remember your face should freak everyone out.

Is that weird?  I don’t feel like it’s weird, but Apple fans seem ok with it so I don’t know.

I don’t know anything anymore.
