Corpse Run 991: (should have been) The Last of Us
I’ve been wanting to play The Last of Us for years but never had a PS3/4. Finally played it last weekend with Rich and it was a blast, particularly the story.
The story was fantastic in the sense that it really put a bow on the narrative…
…so why is there a sequel?
Two words: More money. There’s other reasons, but I’m not trying to start an argument. XD
I’m partway through the sequel. So far, it’s been very well done, but hasn’t yet recaptured the narrative magic of the original. They seem to be exploring the consequences of the final scene in the first game, but I’m not exactly sure which way they are going to take it. Supposedly, it’s very polarizing, but I’ve managed to avoid spoilers as to why.
In short, it’s still enjoyable, so I’d give it a shot. However, the highs aren’t as resonant as the first game (at least, not yet) and I have a feeling Sigurther is right about the core reason, so if you wanted to tap out before playing the second game, I can’t blame you.
