I see things like this and I want to remember the name of some manga I read some of before. At the start it is setup like a school girl slice of life, which there are far too many of, and then after a chapter or two, it changes the character giving the perspective and the main girl was living in a delusion, while everyone else around her just sympathized with her in the zombie apocalypse that happened. Her self-deluding happiness is the only thing that kept them sane enough to keep trying to live on, not wanting to see her break down even more.
The idea itself may not be incredibly novel, but the execution had me surprised. It did well to drag out the happy intro, while leaving breadcrumbs to link events, so the reveal had a lot more history behind it. Things like this, reinforce my belief that execution is more important than concept. Can name several comics that are better than most well known works. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō > Shindler’s List
Also to note, looking at your work above, I can only think that the portion of the population that will see that as a video glitch is going to be very rare. Looks like some encoding corruption you’d find on VHS tapes after they age.
