Corpse Run 239: Dress up
So yeah… this seems to happen a lot in RPGS…
… exclusively of the “j” variety.
Sometimes it works the other way around, however. Like in Final Fantasy 9, for example, when Beatrix is briefly in your party, you can take some of her sweet items and put them in your inventory. Just make sure to to give her anything, or else you’ll lose it.
I mentioned in the last Kat’s Korner that Verizon and I had a little fun recently and that I would tell the story during Wednesday’s livestream. For anyone who missed it (how could you?!), here’s what happened:
Around 9-9:30ish Tuesday morning, I was riding the train with Richard into Manhattan. We were talking about football, and wanted to pull up the Jets’ and Giants’ schedules for the year to predict wins/losses. While we couldn’t get 4g underground, the train we were on briefly goes over a bridge. Richard picked up signal… I did not.
Whatever, I figured, we probably not above ground long enough for me to pick it up.
That’s what I thought, anyway… once off the train, the problem persisted. No biggie, however, I just went to a Starbucks and used their free wi-fi.
The problem, if it could be called that, was solved… but when I tried to call someone a hour later, my phone said this, “Welcome to Verizon Wireless. If you would like to make a call, please call collect, or enter your credit card information.”
What the hell was that?
I wasn’t home for another few hours, but when I checked my email that night, my mother sent me this story:
She was due for a phone upgrade and, when the guy in the store went to deactivate her old phone, he actually deactivated mine. The guy then promised her that he reactivated my phone, which was a lie.
Borrowing Jackie’s phone, I called the store that performed the mishap. After checking a few things, the guy on the phone told me that the Verizon associate had set my SIM card to “unusable,” essentially meaning that it was completely dead… forever.
No, he didn’t put any emphasis on forever… but I wanted to.
Anyways, I asked him why the associate would say that he reactivated my phone if that was impossible after messing up my SIM card.
Crickets.
Oh Verizon Associate… curse you!
Long story short, I went this morning to a Verizon store near my apartment to get everything fixed. Funny thing, though, when I told the guy at the store what happened, he looked at me and said, “Wow, that guy (the one who did the deactivation, not the guy on the phone) is an idiot.”
Maybe, store guy… maybe…
Finally, if you’d like to view the livestream from last night, you can check it out here!
I miss streams because time zones. Is that a good enough reason?
And I hate games that do that to you. Even better is when you gave them good stuff, sold the old stuff, then got stuck past a point of no return, so you can’t change the equipment, or even remove it in some games.
Or better yet, when you can’t win without them having it, but know it will be gone forever after winning the battle. D:
Yep, time zones are a good reason =P
NO NO NO NO NO!!! HOW DID I MISS THE FIRST STREAM SINCE JUNE? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! NO. NO. NO. NO. IT MUST BE TUESDAY. NO. IT MUST BE…….. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
omg, I missed it! I have no good excuse except that I was in the living room reading a really good book. This morning I just got that, “You missed something important.” feeling. I hate that feeling. I’ll catch the next one.
Read this and my first thought was “Aeris. That bitch!”
I missed it because I had friends over and we just played Smash Bros and Battlefield all day (Not that that’s a bad thing) but I didn’t know it was happening that day. I remember them being on Thursdays: have you changed the date now?
