Corpse Run 750: Convergent choicevolution
I definitely don’t mean this as a knock on Final Fantasy 9. Sure, there are a lot of moments in the game when you’re presented with “choices” that really affect nothing in particular, but they little scenes that play out during them are cute and fun enough that they provide a neat flavor to moments that otherwise would be mundane.
The Ipsen castle wall scene comes to mind as a great example of how to add humor to vanilla situations.
In other news, I tried doing stand-up for the first time this past Thursday and it was really fun! I totally borked up the bit towards the end, but it was still neat to do and helpful towards getting over the general fear of talking in front of a bunch of folks. Not sure if I’ll be doing this again, but if you want to take a look here it is:
I know at least one person that will not be surprised at all over my choice of topic.
That was great!
Ahhhh Ipsen’s Castle…
This playthrough I decided to try to beat Ozma before Ipsen’s Castle. Did the friendly monster sidequest, got Zidane and Dagger one hit from trancing, equipped Vivi with “return magic”, whole party equipped with shit that negates “shadow” damage without absorbing it so he still does Doomsday… One party member level 55 to aggro LV5 death, one LV 56 to aggro LV4 Holy… Dragon’s Crest with Freya at max effect, Dagger confusion, berserk, and silence-proof so she could deal with Curse on the rest of the party…. I was ready. Ozma on Disc 3 before hitting level 60. I was prepared to spend alllllll day banging my head on one of the most frustrating optional superbosses in the history of final fantasy.
….Which died on my first try… Maybe… Just perhaps… I’m a little too good at this…
…… Alex…. Why did you give Eiko boobs…? She’s SIX.
