LIVESTREAM UPDATE:

Alrighty, I’ve actually decided that I prefer putting the stream updates at the top of the news posts, my apologies to those who wanted them at the bottom.  Sorry about that!

The next livestream will be this Friday, March 29th at 10pm est!  See you there!

END LIVESTREAM UPDATE!

So I totally understand that this strip might be a bit crass, and if you’re not a fan of this one, my apologies.  As time goes on, it seems like more and more people are affected (directly or indirectly) by mental health issues and, considering the seriousness of it all, a joke like this might be in bad taste.

Personally, I disagree.  Without airing all my laundry for you guys to see, I will say that I have an immediate family member who suffers from such a condition, and it really is a heartbreaking experience.

That said, there’s no better way to overcome something than making light of it, so… heck, why not make an Alzheimer’s joke?

Especially at Handsome Jack’s expense.

On the other hand, the “Dr. Zed Alzheimer’s Association?”  That guy is way too busy gluing animals together to spend time researching any disease… but who else could I have referenced?

Doc Mercy?  Tannis?  They’re even less likely.

So it’s currently March Madness, the wonderful part of the year where the entire country stops to spend a few weeks watching college basketball in lieu of doing something important.

Normally I don’t care too much; the games often get regulated to background noise instead of actually being watched.

Normally I don’t put twenty bucks into a bracket pool.

With a bit of money on the line, I’m suddenly a college basketball aficionado.  While watching some games with Jackie, I attempted to provide a running commentary.  My basketball knowledge is about as vast as a peanut, so my comments had little to do with strategy and more to do with total nonsense.

For example, after some really tall guy blocked a shot, I offered up this piece of wisdom, “I remember that guy from last year’s national championship game, he was so tall I assumed he was a senior and graduated.”

Apparently it doesn’t work like that in college, they’re all really tall.

Well, I hope the Louisville players are the tallest, because my Andrew Jackson rests on their shoulders.

Which are very high off the ground.

…because they’re tall.
