The next livestream will be this Friday, May 9th at 7pm est!  We finished up the FF8 run last week (more on that in a moment), so there’ll be a new game to play.  Not sure what it is just yet, but I think I have an idea!

See you then!

The Final Fantasy 8 low level run is in the books!  This was my first crack at doing one, and while it wasn’t perfect (my final party was Squall lv.14, Zell lv.13, and Selphie lv.12) it was a lot of fun.

…except for one thing.  I got Odin.  Truth be told, I have no idea why I made that decision, as I knew what Odin’s special ability was.  Unlike other Guardian Forces, Odin cannot be junctioned to any party member nor be consciously summoned during a fight.

Odin decides when he feels like showing up, and in a normal fight, he insta-kills every enemy.

Normally, that’s super duper… but when I’m purposely trying not to kill things, it’s terribly annoying and forced me to quickload a number of times.

Boooooooo Odin.

Last week’s stream also ended around 3:30-4ish in the morning, I didn’t get to bed until around 5.  I was so tired that pretty much all Saturday was a blur; the only thing I can really say for sure about that day was that my neck was sore.

I don’t like it when my neck is sore.

Finally, a silly story.  I mentioned recently that Jackie and I ditched Time Warner and signed up with RCN, who sent an installer last Thursday.

When he entered our apartment, I asked him if I could get him something to drink.  He looked around the room and noticed a table that had a number of whisky bottles on it, then turned back to me.

“Umm…” he said, “I can’t right now, thanks.”

I though that was a weird way to say no to a glass of water, and didn’t realize until much later why he used that particular phrase.
