Corpse Run 544: Super Soaker
Now that I have a few more hours of Smite experience under my belt, I can confidently say…
…that this game doesn’t make any sense.
I mean, from a gameplay perspective it’s fine, you win matches by pushing through enemy defenses and all that… but you play as Gods.
Why would, say, Zeus have a sudden desire to team up with Anubis and Ymir to push through some village and get to the other side? Also, their attacks are pretty underwhelming considering they are mythological deities. Neith shoots a little arrow, Ra has a bit of a fire spurt, Poseidon kind of splurts a little bit of water…
…it’s really silly looking. Sure they all have special attacks that are neat, but they have long cooldowns.
Why would a God have to worry about such a thing? Why would a supernatural creature have such a limitation? It all seems a little ridiculous.
Fun, definitely fun, but ridiculous.
In other news, after eight years I’m finally getting a new pair of glasses! During the summer I left my ratty pair on the floor and our Girls Head Counselor stepped on them. She apologized, but it was totally my fault for leaving them literally in the middle of the floor.
Sometime in the next week my glasses place will give me a call, and then I will pick up my SWEET SWEET NEW GLASSES.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Because Poseidon annihilating the countryside with a tsumani just to make his way through a village would be overkill. Anymore than Yahweh hitting a nation with Armageddon or Odin starting Ragnarok.
That’d be pretty awesome if Poseidon could just wipe out the map with a tsunami… I’d play him more often!
I certainly hope you will make the old joke, where you put on the glasses and with an amazed face you will announce to the entire world that now you can see
Fortunately I can see pretty well without them, they are just for distance! That said I’ll make sure to go nuts!
Just read your comic from beginning to end.
Have you ever played Skies of Arcadia? Either the original Dreamcast version (with the awesome VMU game?) or the Gamecube version (where they could of EASILY made the VMU game so it could of been played on the GBA)?
I highly recommend it.
A Dreamcast > Gamecube port I WOULDN’T recommend is Evolution 1 and Evolution 2, as they tore out a good bit of story in Evolution Worlds.
Now excuse me as I break out my Dreamcast and play some Timestalkers.
Heya! Thanks for reading!
I ALWAYS wanted to play SoA when I was younger but I didn’t have a Dreamcast. If I recall correctly, it’s been ported quite a bit so I should be able to find it somewhere!
This comic looks… familiar.

Whoops where’d that link come from? :L
Hahaha I was thinking of that one the entire time making this! The spiritual sequel!
Always interesting to get new glasses. I got mine a couple of months ago and the frame is a lot lighter than my old one, I’m really happy with it.
However, that also means it’s weaker and I already managed to get a couple of balls in my face (volleyballs, in case you got the wrong idea :P).
It has been fixed, but apparently one side is already weakened quite a lot and is noticeably damaged.
Moral of the story, be careful with your glasses.
